What To Expect From Us
We handle everything from day one to the finishing touches. Here’s what’s included in a Wave Builders Inc. deck build:
- A complete design package● We'll go over the size, shape, and placement of the deck, height above grade and where the stairs land, decking material and color, railing style, the framing plan, and any built-ins like benches, privacy screens, or lighting. We will help strategize and come up with an effective plan so we can get to work.
- A fixed-scope written proposal● The full scope and pricing in writing before any work gets started.
- One project manager● A direct phone number to the person who knows your project best.
- Coordinated schedule● A planned timeline that details the steps of the deck being built and gives you the amount of time the whole project will take.
- Materials● Concrete and footing materials, pressure-treated framing lumber, decking boards, railing system, structural hardware and fasteners, flashing, stair components, and any lighting purchased and delivered according to the agreed upon schedule, and timed so nothing ends up sitting around in your home or delaying the end date of the project.
- Regular Updates● We will communicate regularly to provide updates to tell you what has gotten done and what still needs to be done.
How Building a Deck Works
Three clear phases. No surprises. Here's what to expect when Wave Builders takes on your kitchen.
01
Design
We will come out for a free consultation to look at the space where you’d like to put the new deck to go over the size, materials, and railing style, plus where the stairs land, how high the deck sits above grade, and any built-ins like benches, lighting, or a privacy screen. We’ll then go ahead and create a proposal that goes over the full scope and pricing before getting started with the build.
02
Build
Once you approve the proposal and give us the all clear to start working, we will begin getting the proper permits and starting the build as soon as we can. We will follow a planned schedule that is on the proposal with frequent communication to ensure we’re delivering exactly what you asked for.
03
Deliver
Once we complete the deck, we will go over any last details to ensure we met what was agreed upon in the proposal. We never consider a job complete until you’re a happy and satisfied customer, and that’s why we like to have a final walkthrough together to ensure we’re on the same page.

Common Questions About Deck Construction
Questions many homeowners ask before choosing to build-out a deck:
How much does a new deck cost?
A new deck usually costs around $12,000-$15,000.
How long does deck construction take?
Once the pre-construction phase is complete, it usually only takes us about one week to completely build your new deck.
Composite vs. wood decking — which is right for my project?
There are pros and cons for each type of deck.
Composite decks require more money upfront, but they are known for lasting longer and low maintenance which does save money over time.
Wood decks require less money upfront but regular maintenance including power washing, sanding, and restaining every 2 to 3 years. While these provide a more natural look, they do not last as long as composite decks.
